IDE allows the operator to rapidly and confidently navigate around the device from meaningful on-screen circuit schematics, netlists and layouts. When the user selects a feature in one window, the corresponding features in the other windows are automatically highlighted, and the real-time image display moves to reveal the area of interest in the device. Outside the die optional software allows die-to-die stepping on a wafer, or interdie interconnect navigation on MCMs and PCBs.
CAE Navigation
For waveform-based analysis systems, the results of logic and circuit simulation can be compared to measured waveforms using simulator control options. Optional guided-probe software can suggest optimal next-probe locations to the user.
Electronic Report Generation
The IDE report-generation options allow engineers to electronically transfer images, waveforms CADICAE data, text and other diagnostic information from lab equipment to any networked computer. Professional reports are composed quickly without manual cut-and-paste or the use of intermediate paper or photographs. Electronic composition increases engineering productivity and high-resolution color reports improve customer comprehension and satisfaction. A variety of hard-copy devices are supported and reports can also be mailed to customers for rapid response. Standard file formats in IDE allow the engineer to use popular word processing and page-layout applications to compose the final report.
